About Chomy

Having identified the possible loss in production time, family time, and the high cost of transport to having freshly made food to the home or office, added to the abundance of available youth and the endless possible opportunities offered by the digital economy, the idea of Chomy Delivery Service was born 2022.

Chomy is a food ordering and delivery service, aimed at helping customers have more time to do what is important to them. We make it possible for them to stay on track with their daily tasks and busy schedules, by simply ordering the food they desire from our Chomy app.

We are the friend in the palm of the customer’s hand when they need essential supplies brought to them. It is our mission to provide customers with an all-encompassing convenience service where they live and work.

With our service, we make it possible for anyone to gain digital access to an existing market. To achieve our mission, we will have provided income-generating opportunities where they did not exist before. We aspire to improve the quality of life for as many South Africans as possible.

The Team

CEO and Founder

Lebogang Sindane

Through his travels around the world, particularly in Europe and the Middle East, Lebogang was exposed to food delivery service platforms where local delicacies and traditional food were easily accessible. A similar experience was absent in South Africa, all while an abundance of food outlets was mushrooming by unemployed youth, expert foodies, professional chefs, and legacy restaurants.

As South Africa embraced the Gig economy throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, encouraging Lebogang to enroll in an XCode training course in 2020 where he learned the fundamentals of coding for iOS devices. In the previous year, he was enrolled in an Entrepreneurship course with The StartUp School, through a bursary from Investec.

Upon completing the course, he started Plug Internet, an internet services reseller for mobile, home, and office connectivity products from MTN, Telkom, OpenServe, Vumatel, and MetroFiber to clients across the country. Running the business exposed him to an automated management system, the critical role of an excellent customer care system, financial management, marketing, design, and variable communication with clients and service providers.

From a media career, spanning over 2 decades from 1999, with 16 years in broadcasting and streaming at ETV and ENCA, Lebogang is highly skilled in complex tasks with a wide range of mandates and executing multiple mandates. He also thrives in simplifying challenging problems to benefit the greater masses.
